The perfection of wisdom, the Prajna Paramita, is contained in the Heart Sutra of Wisdom.
This Sutra, central to the teachings of the Mahayana Buddhist school, is practiced in China, Japan, South-east Asia as well as in Tibet. The enlightened Avalokitesvara, in a great assembly of monks and sages, replied to a question of the wise Shariputra on the correct way to perceive the five aggregates. On this occasion the following were explained: the Five Paths to Enlightenment, the twelve links of interdependent origination, the four noble truths and a understanding of the profound experience of transcendental emptiness, from both a relative and absolute viewpoint.
